At Balanças Marques, since 1967 we make it our mission to weigh a new world. And, since then, we contribute daily to the national production, with scales, weighbridges and other equipment that show, across borders, what’s best about Portugal.
Balanças Marques operates in more than 20 markets and has facilities in Spain, France and even China. But our roots are in Portugal. It is in Portugal that most of our operations are based, with the development and installation of our main products: our BM5 commercial scales and our PCM M1500 weighbridges.
For this reason, every day, we contribute in several ways to increase and magnify the national production:
1. We manufacture the world’s best commercial scale and weighbridge.
Our BM5 ARM is elected as the best retail scale at the Weighing Review Awards since 2017. And our PCM M1500 has already won the category for best weighbridge on 7 of the 8 editions of these awards. Result of an online public voting, these distinctions confirm the quality of our solutions and the work of the Industry in Portugal.
2. We are the largest exporter of scales in Portugal.
Balanças Marques was responsible for 70,1% of the exportations on the Portuguese weighing sector, in 2019, reaffirming as the largest scales exporter in the country. Among the main destinations of our weighing equipment are many European countries, as is the case of France and Spain, but also other international markets such as Chile, where we have the chance to show the highly technological solutions that Portugal can develop.
3. We produce 1 touch/display scale every 5 minutes.
With more than 150 employees and a constant bet on innovation and our own manufacturing capacity, Balanças Marques produces a touch scale or a display every 5 minutes. This way, we are able to respond to the demand from the four corners of the world and bring them products with the “Made in Portugal” seal of quality.
4. We have more than 2000 weighbridges installed all over the world.
Around the world, there are more than 2000 Marques weighbridges working on several types of businesses. This is, there are thousands of clients who trust the work of our company – that was also the winner of the title for world’s best weighing company in the 2019 and 2021 editions of Weighing Review Awards. And, therefore, hundreds of clients that know Portugal through the solutions we develop.
