THE HEALTH YEAR AT BALANÇAS MARQUES: A SUMMARY (IN PHOTOS)

At Balanças Marques, 2021 was the Health Year. It was a year dedicated to a “Topic with Weight” that has also been a main concern all over the world. It was a year with multiple initiatives focused on encouraging our employees towards adopting safe behaviors and a healthy lifestyle. 

At the beginning of 2021, we decided to dedicate our year to Health. Throughout 12 months, we’ve organized activities, pointed out commemorative dates, contributed to causes related to the theme and encouraged our employees to have a healthier daily life at all levels. 

But our actions did not stand by the Physical Health. They also covered the Security and Prevention, the general Well-Being, and Mental Health.

In 2021, we’ve shown our employees that is possible to have a balanced and, at the same time, tasty diet, offering snacks, meals, and a book with healthy recipes. We reminded them the importance of physical exercise with our functional training classes. We heard their concerns about the work-life balance, through surveys. And, hand in hand with them, we reinforced the importance of having preventive health care, focusing, for example, on handwashing (with our soap sheets kit), flu vaccination, vision and nutrition check-ups and by promoting information on the diagnosis of breast cancer and prostate cancer.

Besides, we also invested in our community. We contributed for the Blood Bank as a Donor Company, helping to save lives. Once more, we sponsored the Christmas Lights of Braga Hospital, giving a little sparkle to the Festivities for the Health professionals, its patients, and relatives. And, as always, we invested on the School Sport in Celeirós Schools, with the aim of promoting physical exercise among younger people.
